Meet Mark
Meet Mark Fransen, the truck driver who has seen how Team Driver app has boosted his workday and created a strong community on the road.
New Joy on the Road
Even though I don't have far between my customers, I still think it's great that you can walk in and chat even if you only have a 20-minute drive, and then walk out again
On the road with new energy
Mark Fransen has been driving oil and petrol for BTB Energy for seven years, primarily on Zealand. A job he is very happy with. However, like many other lorry drivers, Mark experienced the loneliness that can come from spending most of your working day alone in the cab. Without a walkie-talkie in the truck, social contact was limited to the rare occasions when colleagues called.
Everything changed when Mark came across a Facebook post from Ninna Bodilsen (another Team Driver ambassador). ‘I thought it was very clever,’ Mark says. "I didn't have a walkie in the truck, so I had no one to talk to. Except my colleagues if they called me. So I actually thought it would be a lot of fun to try to talk to other people."
From isolation to interaction - a new everyday life for Mark
Mark decided to download Team Driver and the results have been overwhelmingly positive. The app has not only created new conversation topics, but has literally ‘boosted his entire workday.’
“Now I have someone to wink at on the road all of a sudden and say hello to at a rest stop or something. I think that’s really cool!” Mark says enthusiastically. This simple opportunity for interaction has broken the isolation and added a new dimension of joy and community to his daily routine. Team Driver has given Mark a social network on the road that makes his working day more vibrant and connected.
